The Start

Khoy Textile Factories were established in 1983 by an investment of Industry and Mining bank, to produce 4300 tons of yarn and 10 million meters of fabric per year (clothing, jeans, shirts, etc.) with the aim of employing about 1000 people. This factory is 150 kilometers far from the city centers of West and East Azerbaijan provinces, which can be reached in less than 2 hours by a car. In addition, it is accessible from the capital, Tehran, in 3 or 4 hours by an airplane. One of the special features of Khoy Textile Factory is its nearness to the outlet borders of the country. It is 120 kms far from Bazargan border, 60 kms far from Jolfa border, 65 kms far from Razi border by road (connecting with Van Province of Turkey) and 90 kms by rail, by which the products of this factory can easily be exported to any of above- mentioned borders.

The aim of Khoy Textile Factories

  • Deprivation
  • Employment
  • To help the industrial development and prosperity of economics of the country
  • To cut off the dependence of the country on other countries and to help the realization of non-oil exports

Geographical Location of the Project

Khoy Textile Factory is located in West Azerbaijan Province and it is in 20kms of Khoy-Marand Road. This Company is 100 hectares and is about 1 km far from the transit road.

And the rest of the story...
This project has attracted 34 million foreign currency brands, spinning, knitting and weaving machinery from the best producers in Swiss and Germany. It was established in October 1992 and after about six months, shipping and clearance of the machinery was started. External installers started installing and operating machinery from April 1994 and it was completed in August 1994 and started to be tested in September and October.
Spinning section has started to produce materials, since November 1994 and was established completely in September 1995 by the President Hashemi Rafsanjani and the relevant authorities. The company's 180 spinning machines have been purchased from Ghadir Company in 1996 and have been installed in 1996 and started to work in September 1997 by the minister of weaving industry.
Also, the production of denim (jean) fabric began in the summer of 2002. This project, was started in 1998 and the Indigo machine was purchased from Germany's SUCKER MULLER company in 2001 and the fabric completion machine was purchased from MON FORTS in Germany, as well as a direct warping machine with laboratory equipment specialized for controlling the production of jeans along with other machinery, were purchased. This project was installed in the fall of 2001. It was started in June 2002 with the presence of Managing Director of Industry and Mining Bank of Iran Mr. Rad Nia along with the other officials of Khoy city. Completion of raw materials is also another part of Khoy Textile Factories’ programs for future.

According to the textile industry practitioners, this factory is one of the best spinning, weaving and indigo units and its yarn and fabric are of excellent quality.

By adding the Indigo unit to the Collection of Khoy Textile Production Cycle, denim fabrics in navy blue and black (in different weights) can be made, that can compete with global markets. Currently, about 80 percent of the knitting unit's production capacity is devoted to the production of denim fabrics.

Four main parts

Spinning Preliminary Elements include blowing machines - Carding - Filter Plants - Waste materials as well as Open End Thread Production Unit of Swiss and Germany. The ring line of these Factories will also be set up soon and currently has three ring machines capable of producing slabs and CORE yarns. These Factories with 12 VOLKMAN and SAURER doubling machines also are able to produce 5 tons of two fold yarns daily.

Bobbin dyeing unit

These Factories are capable of producing at least 3 tons of 100% cotton and mixed yarn per day.

Knitting Unit

By the presence of modern P7100, P7150, ITEMA, PICANOL and Ghadir knitting machines, various fabrics can be produced.  Also, to improve the quality and quantity of fabrics, these factories are changing their old machines, which will soon result in replacing the old machines with modern ones.

The knitting preliminary unit includes:

The pattern wrapping machines and the sizing system, which are all manufactured in Germany and carry out the production of bowstring. In addition, these factories use KARL-MAYER of Germany 2008, for the sake of improving the produced bowstrings.

Indigo unit

With an Indigo machine and a wrapper machine, it is able to produce denim fabrics in black and navy blue colors that can compete with global markets.

For the development of these factories in future, the most complete dyeing machines of the world, which  have been purchased from the best brands in the world, will be installed.
